What Boeing product(s) or service(s) do you work on?
I’m part of the Airspace Operational Efficiency (AOE) group. We are developing aircraft decision support services for integrated operations. These services will support decision-making throughout all phases of the operation of an airline: plan, dispatch, fly, maintain and post-flight analysis. The objective is to improve efficiency, resilience to disruptions and reduce the environmental footprint.
What's been the most rewarding project you've worked on as a Boeing intern?
I worked on aircraft performance modeling, with the goal of representing the aircraft behavior during flight as close to reality as possible, I’m tailoring existing performance models with the aid of historical flight data and machine learning techniques.
What have you learned as an intern that you wouldn’t learn from your coursework?
You’ll never have an answer to every question. The important thing is to know where to look for the answer. In addition, I’ve learned how a big international company works from the inside, which will help me decide what I want to do next.
How will your internship experience at Boeing influence your future career?
I’m certain that my internship experience will enhance my career, since it’s helping me grow as an engineer, as a co-worker and as a person. It’s enhancing my technical skills, at the same time as my soft skills.
What about Boeing's mission and the work we do inspires you?
Boeing continuously pursues a better world, not only in the aerospace field, but in general. I’ve learned that Boeing is more than “just” airplanes. Boeing is all the people behind every aircraft and product. I find the commitment to promoting a work environment that encourages respect and good vibes inspiring.
