Boeing Global Services, Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance (CMM) is a One Boeing opportunity to engage across the business units (including BCA Production Certification and In Service support) and global design centers. BGS CMM - Systems Engineering is seeking innovative and adaptable Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineers to join this talented and fast-paced team, reporting to the BGS CMM Avionics Manager in Long Beach, California.  The Boeing BGS Team is looking for a Design and Analysis Engineer (Electronic Sys Design & Analy) to join us at the Long Beach, CA location

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry (Level 1), Experienced (Level 2), or Career (Level 3) Design and Analysis Engineer (Electronic Sys Design & Analy)

This position is expected to be 100% on-site.  The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at the Long Beach, CA location.

Job Description

In this role, you will develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.  You will design hardware, software and interface specifications, as well as test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.  Additionally, you will assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements, while solving problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.  This position will require you to research specific technological advances for potential application to company business needs.  You will join this talented and fast-paced team, reporting to the BGS CMM Avionics Manager in Long Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and documents electronic and electrical system requirements.

  • Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.

  • Writes and performs test procedures in test bench, simulator, or certification flight test environment, validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with appropriate regulations and certification requirements, including RTCA, DO-178, and DO-254.

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to customer and company business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science)

  • Willingness to learn and work as a team

  • Good written and spoken communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Wide range of knowledge in Systems, Software, or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience working in an electrical design engineering environment (with emphasis on electronic and electrical systems design and analysis).

  • Experience in avionics design and a background in related fields within the avionics industry

  • Knowledge of FAA certification and airworthiness requirements

  • Experience in test planning, setup, test development, execution, conducting tests in a lab or production environment.

  • Experience in performing design, integration, and/or testing on avionics sub-systems, performing environmental testing.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Entry (Level 1)

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry (e.g. Bachelor), or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 2)

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Career (Level 3)

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Summary Pay Range:

  • Entry (Level 1):                         70,550  –   95,450

  • Experienced (Level 2):             85,850 – 116,150

  • Career (Level 3):                     102,850 – 139,150
