As an Avionics Engineer you will provide Electrical and Avionic systems engineering services in the Boeing Defence Australia, Wedgetail Air Vehicle design team located at Brisbane, QLD. Optional locations may also be at Boeing sites in Newcastle (Williamtown) , Amberley, or Adelaide.

 As an Electrical and Avionics Design Engineer within BDA, you will

  • Work with customers to develop and document electrical and avionic system requirements,
  • Analyse and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications,
  • Test and validate designs to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements,
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements,
  • Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle,
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in engineering activities including design development and engineering investigations relating to Wedgetail electrical, radar, communications, navigation and electronic warfare subsystem designs;
  • Developing engineering artefacts within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment;
  • Supporting Engineering initiatives as required.

To be successful you will:

  • Hold a tertiary degree qualification in Electrical / Avionics engineering satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers, Australia (MIEAust);
  • Have general knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes, policy, culture and standard practices;
  • Have experience in aircraft wiring design/repair methodologies, aircraft electrical systems and aircraft engineering processes.
  • Previous experience with aircraft modification programs highly regarded.
  • Previous experience with EASA 21.J, CASA 21.J, or CASA 21M Modification and Repair Design Approval is highly regarded
