The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Laser and Electro-Optical systems (LEOS) is looking for a skilled Associate Electrical Design Engineer (Level 2) to provide support on the development of high performance Directed Energy and Electro-Optical Systems for a variety of customers and platforms. This position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and Electro-Optical Systems. These solutions typically employ high performance analog/digital control electronics, embedded processing hardware using combination of FPGA’s and general purpose processors. This position is located in Albuquerque, NM.
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Experience developing requirements for, design, integrating and testing electrical/electronic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Experience working in a laboratory or field environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Knowledge of Electro-Optical/IR or RF systems
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
