Boeing Defence United Kingdom (BDUK) is looking for a Product Support Engineer to augment our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capability. This is a full-time role based at Almondbank with hybrid working options.
BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,700 people in the UK. We are responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including new capabilities like the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Autonomous Systems, C4ISR Services, Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services and are very much in a growth phase.

The BDUK Engineering function operates a matrix organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. This role will be in the Product Support Engineering Department. The Department consists of the following technical areas:
- Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis
- Reliability and Maintainability
- Logistic Support Analysis
- Engineering Data Exploitation
- Obsolescence Management
- Technical Publications
- Product Support Engineering
- Maintenance Repair and Overhaul
As a Product Support Engineer, you will help to facilitate and implement Product Support Engineering philosophies and techniques in support of capability growth in the field of MRO. You will report to the BDUK Technical Support Manager (MRO) whilst being technically supported by our other capability specialists within the Product Support Department in addition to ‘On-Site’ Engineering and Supply Chain personnel.
In your role, you shall:
- Assist in the assessment, development and implementation of Product Support strategy with respect to technology insertion and tooling methodologies.
- Support resolution of technical problems and assist in the advance of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts with respect to BDUK MRO services offering.
- Assist in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies
- Liaise with Engineering, R&M, ILS, Publications, RCMA, LSA, Supply Chain and other Product Support Departments in both Boeing UK and USA to glean and/or provide data and information to support activities as they relate to MRO products and services.
- Interface with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills knowledge and experience.
- Support internal and external audits and reviews to ensure product and data information meet regulatory requirements
- Work as directed by the Technical Support Manager (MRO) in support of the delivery and advancement of MRO capabilities.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
The preferred candidate will have most of the following, with some considered essential:
- Ideally but not essential you will be educated to degree level in a relevant STEM subject.
- Prior experience in technology insertion or an advanced manufacturing environment e.g. machining operations/composites/fabrication is highly desirable.
- Ideally, some understanding of Support Engineering in the UK Military environment
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with a focus for detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
