Job Description

The lead data scientist for the Boeing Enterprise Insider Threat Program is responsible for determining, defining, and deploying complex predictive/prescriptive analytic solutions to support the mission of the Insider Threat Program and to meet business objectives. The successful candidate employs advanced analytics and data manipulation techniques including machine learning, text analytics, and descriptive and inferential statistical analysis in the creation of complex insider threat actor models; works with the insider threat project manager and customer to identify analytics technology requirements; evaluates and validates correctness of complex models and analyses alongside the insider threat lead analyst; sufficiently understands the insider threat mission in order to set data analysis goals that align with the Program’s mission; leads efforts to prepare complex data for analysis; drives the visualization of analytic results by understanding the customers’ requirements; and is an effective communicator who can advise and collaborate with other team members and customers in a clear, concise, understandable manner.

Quality applicants are considered independent self-starters, with experience determining, defining, and deploying complex predictive/prescriptive analytic solution in the insider threat domain. Applicants should have a strong background in analytics languages, techniques, and tools (preferably Python, R Programming, RStudio, R-Shiny, Gephi), must be detail-orientated, and maintain a thorough understanding of corporate security and the insider threat problem set and associated technologies and analytic methodologies.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship


This position requires an active [ Top Secret ] U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Required Skills and Experience (Both Required): 
• This position requires a current Top Secret US Security Clearance.
• This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Desired Skills and Experience:
strong background in analytics languages, techniques, and tools (preferably Python, R Programming, RStudio, R-Shiny, Gephi)

Typical Education and/or Experience:
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
