Job Description

The Boeing Company has an open position for a Senior Trade Control Specialist. This position will be based our of our Arlington, Virginia office. The person who fills this position will be part of a Global Trade Control team that  has overall functional responsibility for company-wide import and export activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of company position in coordination with key stakeholders. Develops arguments and responses to external inquiries to support the company position
  • Participates in or leads industry advocacy groups and governmental engagement to impact the global trade control environment.
  • Monitors trends in government and industry, anticipates potential changes and recommends approaches
  • Combines the multiple elements of global trade control requirements into a comprehensive enterprise global trade control strategy. Identifies, documents, develops and deploys regulatory documentation for high profile and/or precedent setting activity with significant business risk and/or sensitive policy issues involving industry partners, subsidiaries, joint ventures and multiple regulatory agencies
  • Support engagement with elements of U.S. Department of Defense (including defense agencies and the U.S. military Services and Secretariats), Department of State, and/or Department of Commerce regarding exportability concerns for highly controlled defense systems and technologies
  • Initiate technology release and policy reviews through the Tri-Service Committee and military Program Offices

Qualifications

Typical Education & Experience. 

Bachelor's degree and typically 15 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 13 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • 10 or more years experience in a Global Trade Controls related role
  • Experience supporting engagements with elements of U.S. Department of Defense (including defense agencies and the U.S. military Services and Secretariats), Department of State, and/or Department of Commerce regarding exportability concerns for highly controlled defense systems and technologies
  • Experience supporting engagements with elements of U.S. Department of Defense (including defense agencies and the U.S. military Services and Secretariats), Department of State, and/or Department of Commerce to facilitate technology release and policy reviews through the Tri-Service Committee and military Program Offices
  • Experience supporting the foreign military sales process, National Disclosure Policy, and technology release processes
  • The ability to obtain a US Security Clearance post hire

 

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) guidelines

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
