Position Overview:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) currently has a need for an experienced Supplier Quality Specialist to join its newly created Prevention Team (Supplier Readiness). The role will be to ensure that all Initial Product and Production System Validation (IPPSV) activities are completed as planned. The role reports to the Prevention Senior Manager within BCA Supplier Quality.

This assignment could be in Beijing/Tianjin/Shenyang.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads early quality engagement prevention activities of complex supplier's systems, processes and products, collaborating with Regional Sustainment SQ team.
• Ensures suppliers have proper process in place to assess and mitigate/eliminate quality risks associated with Work Transfer. Supports Boeing Regional Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) to ensure supplier's Quality Management System (QMS) compliance with Boeing requirements.
• Be pro-actively engaged with current and new suppliers to ensure First Time Quality (FTQ).
• Plans and conducts prevention assessment such as Requirement Consumption Review (RCR).
• Plans and conducts review of suppliers’ First Article Inspection (FAI). Perform Boeing First Article Inspection (BFAI) to ensure Suppliers have robust Initial Product and Production System Validation process.
• Support supplier's Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process development and monitor deliverables completion.
• Partner with Sustainment and Recovery SQ team in deploying previous lessons learned into new work statements.
• Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.
• Documents and reports audit and assessment results in coordination with Regional SQR for any assessments performed.
• Ensures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed as required; evaluates supplier Root Cause Analysis and proposed corrective action plans (RCCA) where these affect part numbers subject to IPPSV control.
• Provides supplier education and coaching on APQP, technical expertise, company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity.
• Monitors quality improvement initiatives at supplier; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in IPPSV.
• Reports supplier's quality risks and opportunities subject to IPPSV to leadership.
• Supports duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications (Required Experience/Education/Skill):

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and typically a minimum of 10 years or more related work experience, or a Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and typically 7 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior audit and quality assessments experience.
• Working comprehension of the requirements of AS9100.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
• Strong supplier quality development background.
• Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action.
• Knowledge of supplier quality system requirements, along with extensive process auditing experience.
• Fluent in English in spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Skills):

• • Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as APQP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, FAI, RCCA.
• • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and AS9145.
• • Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events).
• • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes.
• • Experience developing supplier improvement plans and strategies, providing training, and coaching.

Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Job Information:

• The position will be mainly on-site at Supplier facilities, and may require frequent travel, including possible extended stays at locations in Asia or further afield if the need arises.
• This requisition is for a locally hired position in China, candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in China, Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
• Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
