The Kubernetes Container Service team is directly responsible for engineering modern solutions on world class infrastructure. Continuing upon the success of our IaaS, DBaaS and PaaS platforms, we are looking to expand our footprint of capability with another dynamic, highly skilled solution development team member.

In this exciting role, as a critical technical member of the Enterprise Cloud Service organization, you will be responsible for providing hands on technical leadership to ensure overall solution harmony in the development and implementation of a cloud service to be integrated and consumed enterprise wide by the Boeing Company. You are passionate about working with new technology to make people’s life easier. You are thoughtful about user experience, especially for other developers.

Candidate works closely with the cloud architects, developers and subject matter experts to create new capabilities and automation development. The candidate will be responsible for overall solution quality, security, performance, flexibility, availability, etc.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Create technical designs and implement potentially complex service features. Create design specifications and related documentation artifacts.

• Develop automation and tooling for the Kubernetes Container Service utilizing development best practices

• Develop integrations needed by the Kubernetes Container Service to other systems

• Coordinates with other teams & cross-team discussion and works with other leads

• Create and maintain a library of reusable container images

• Provide consulting assistance to Kubernetes Container Service consumers

• Be part of release discussions and assist in resolving the defects raised

• Share best practices with other developers

Basic/Required Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills with ability to learn new technology and processes
  • IT experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service and development of cloud-native applications
  • IT experience working with external public cloud service providers
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
  • Experience working with containers
  • Experience with agile software development practices
  • Experience developing applications with Java, C# and/or Go using Git
  • Experience working with Linux servers
  • Understanding of and experience with DevOps practices including using tools such as Jenkins/Ansible/Terraform/…
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of networking concepts and technologies
  • Experience with a containers orchestration solution such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with current architecture best practices such as microservices and API-driven development
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
  • Experience with other cloud solutions such as OpenStack or Cloud Foundry (or other PaaS solutions)
  • Implementing cloud solutions for a large enterprise
Typical Education/Experience:


Technical Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.


This position is located in Bellevue, WA and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
