Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a User Experience/Product Design Chief to lead UI/UX product design efforts, from user research through iterative development and delivery to the end user for the IT Analytics & Information Management Services (AIMS) organization. The primary focus of this role will be to design and build innovative solutions, implementing cutting-edge agile software development methodologies and user-centric design techniques.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with project teams to oversee and perform user-centered design activities that actively involve users throughout all phases of a project to ensure product usability.
  • Guiding product decisions by guiding or conducting user research such as interviews and facilitating iterative feedback loops.
  • Overseeing the definition of complex user requirements, user flows, and usability goals.
  • Overseeing the creation of user interaction design alternatives for complex requirements, and conveying designs by building prototypes and style guides.
  • Leading or conducting iterative usability tests to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the designs.
  • Diagnosing and prioritizing complex usability issues and refining designs or recommending changes.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Education & Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.


Basic Skills

  • Experience in UX design with an emphasis on whole experience solutions and empathy for the end user 
  • 1+ years experience working in Lean/Agile software development and rapid iterative design and delivery of products 
  • Excellent collaboration skills teaming with clients, product managers, developers, and fellow designers 
  • Experience with responsive and mobile design



Preferred Skills:

  • 3+ years experience developing visual design, branding and data visualizations to produce modern, compelling products
  • Communicating design rationale to stakeholders and continuously advocate for the end user
  • Experience determining the user-centered design strategy and lead the IT business customers through research, iterative design and development, and the delivery process
  • Experience leading teams
