Job Description:
 
Test & Evaluation engineers at Boeing make sure that products at the world’s largest aerospace company continue to meet the highest standards. From quality and reliability, to safety and performance, their expertise is vital to the concept, design and certifications of a wide variety of commercial and military systems. Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) -India based in Bangalore, India is an integral part of BT&E and is engaged in supporting lab and flight test for various programs.
 
Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) has an immediate opening for a STE (Special Test Equipment) Lead Engineer in areas of satellite test and ground support equipment. The selected candidate will be responsible for requirements decomposition, design, procurement, build & test/verification of STE products used throughout a satellite test lifecycle. This position requires prior experience in analog/digital/power design, FPGA design, product development and requirements verification/validation of Special Test Equipment.
 
  • This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world. The candidate shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. Contribute to productivity improvement through use of Quality Management System and lean principles.
  • This positions supports initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.
  • This position will be located in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India
Desired Skills:
  • Extensive and specialized knowledge of design of experimental models, mechanisms, prototypes, test rigs and fixtures, test equipment, and load measurement devices. Includes mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics systems design. Knowledge of machine shop tools and processes.
  • Ability to run Acceptance test procedures and provide supplier oversight.
  • Expertise in analog and digital designs specifically in areas relating to Power STEs.
  • Extensive knowledge across a wide range of engineering disciplines e.g. mechanical design, electrical design, thermal dissipation, failure analysis, MTBF calculations, weight and balance preparation, durability, dynamics,  propulsion/fuel systems, acoustics, material properties, environmental conditioning, control theory, configuration control, and test instrumentation.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within Boeing and external partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on projects.
  • Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
  • Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with team members across different cultures and time-zones

  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.
  • Must have experience leading teams and have the ability to mentor and teach juniors and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master in Engineering (preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or equivalent discipline) with 12 to 15 years’ experience.
