Job Description
 

The Global Sourcing & Vendor Management (GS&VM) organizations is seeking a Manager to lead the GS&VM team in Bangalore, India. This position partners with IT&DA service delivery teams, Indirect Supply Chain, and IT Finance organizations to manage strategic sourcing efforts and vendor performance to ensure the business needs of IT are met with the optimal mix of work done internally and through Boeing IT’s supply chain. Efforts include stratifying our supply base to deliver more value from our suppliers in line with our IT portfolio Management framework. Other responsibilities of this organization is sourcing leadership to ensure process compliance and best return of high value, key programs and projects.

In addition, the IT Global Sourcing and Vendor Management organization is responsible to lead supplier engagement to meet Information Technology functional, operational and business requirements for products and services. Contributes to strategies for use of sourced IT products and services. Researches industry trends in sourcing. Leads analysis of requirements for IT products and services including analysis of business case for changes to requirements.

Develops supplier performance expectations and reviews trends in supplier performance. Works with suppliers to develop or mature their capabilities to handle the IT work statement. Is actively engaged in, or leads, supplier development for strategic suppliers. Coordinates integration of multiple, complex supplier products and services. Manages complex, enterprise-level stakeholder relationships through sourcing lifecycle and governance processes. Leads reviews to identify and mitigate sourcing-related risks. Develops processes for and audits supplier billing and reconciliation.

Manages and develops employee and management activities in the delivery and support of vendor related activities across Boeing IT. Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives that align with the needs of the business. Leverages IT knowledge and drives innovation to increase growth and productivity. Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

 
Knowledge
  • Familiarity with Sourcing Strategy & Vendor Management
  • Understanding of Portfolio Management
  • Familiarity with IT products, services, systems, and tools
  • Familiarity with marketplace, emerging technology trends, industry best practices, and strategic direction (e.g., via ISG, Gartner, etc.)

Skills
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Strong business acumen to understand impacts of sourcing on operational, financial, and risk-related concerns.
  • Ability to strategically define scope of work, develop detailed schedules, manage cost information and identify & mitigate risks
  • Manages benchmark project schedules and deliverables.
  • Identifies & negotiates for necessary resources to meet project goals.
  • Business savvy
  • Technically astute (sufficient understanding of the technical environment to be able to develop viable and appropriate business solutions). Knowledge of emerging technologies that could influence future direction (cloud, mobility, etc).
  • Strategic thinker (drive ingenuity and innovation through “outside-the-box” problem solving)
  • Effective facilitator (drive meaningful business solutions across multi-functional teams, fact-based analysis)

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of Information Technology & Data Analytics experience
  • Strong Global Sourcing and Vendor Management experience
  • Experience in partnering with supplier management to develop sourcing strategies and develop statements of work
  • IAOP Principles, Concepts and Methods
  • Employee Development and Engagement experience
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Supplier Stratification & Planning experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Program and/or Project management experience
  • Strong Communication Skills
