Job Description:
Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for a Electronics/Electrical Component Engineer for airworthy hardware design & development for variety of aerospace programs. Do you love creating elegant solutions to highly complex challenges? Do you intrinsically see the importance in every detail? As a part of our Electronics Parts Management Plan you will ensure Boeing products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle tasks that make them airworthy and reliable. Together you and your team will enable Boeing customers to do all things they love to do reliable and sustained with airworthy products.
As our Silicon Component Reliability Engineer, you will drive product, process and package qualification, and reliability tests. Familiarity with preparation for Qualification including BIB/socket waveform, electrical bias, thermal effect and lifetime estimation will make you successful. You should have proven skills upon parts selection process, parts management process, parts screening, component engineering for hybrids/memory/asics, counterfeit guidance, part drawings, part obsolescence, de-rating guidelines, ROHS/REACH and PPL/APL for standardization. Knowledge of Boeing processes is highly desirable and a good understanding upon application of these processes across various design assurance levels is a must. You should be familiar with process flows, specifications(Cpk, yield etc), MTBUR, MTBF calculations for a new design. Your experience in leading product and process non conformance : Component engineering, MRB, RMAs, failure analysis, failure mode predictions and reporting will ensure team meets its objectives.
Candidate shall coordinate with Program Engineering (Project, Design, Manufacturing, etc) to ensure safety of designs. Provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. As a key role, he shall assist in estimates across hardware development life-cycle.
This positions supports initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development & customer engagement. This position will be located at Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience  8+ years of semiconductor engineering in the reliability and component selection and/or Quality/Product Engineering space
    • Experience  set up HW setups and equipment for life, environmental, ESD, Latch up and other tests.
    • Experience working with audited supplier sites, materials and processes.
    • Have applied JEDEC quality behind standards, ISO and know the science behind them
    • Have worked with reliability fail modes of silicon and/or complex silicon packaging technologies and fail mechanisms with respect to reliability and component engineering.
    • The ideal background will have experience of silicon discrete and silicon product level reliability qualification and lifetime behavior model to enable new part selection, screening and failure rate calculations as a part of the new product introduction processes.

    • Validated experience in driving suppliers in areas of silicon fab process/packaging/assembly, test, reliability predictions, component life-cycle management, reliability/screening monitoring, post production qualification. Running suppliers and contractors to deliver all areas of new product/component/silicon  product qualification.
    • You have worked upon Component Engineering for parts management (obsolescence analysis, BOM management, counterfeit analysis) .
    • You know the science behind Design for Manufacturing and Design for Testing.
    • Understanding of configuration management, requirements traceability and related processes.
    • Knowledge upon Product Life Cycle management and capability upon usage of tools like Teamcenter.
    • Experience in handling multiple sources, good social skills.
    • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.
    • Demonstrate strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools.
