Job Description:
  • The candidate selected for this position will work on managing projects of Digital Aviation Jeppesen Crew and Fleet Management Solutions that are used to manage more than a million crew members of world’s premiere airlines all around the globe such as Lufthansa, Delta Airlines, Qatar Airways, SAS, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and many more. Jeppesen is a fully owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. This position involves working closely with other development teams in Sweden, Singapore, Canada and US. The selected individual will be a part of the engineering and technology team in Boeing India.
  • This position involves working with customers (airlines) directly to understand and deliver on their requirements.
  • As a Project Manager, the selected candidate will be committed and engaged, driving continuous improvement of agile processes and always focusing on supporting the teams to deliver high-value products with high quality.
  • Help facilitate the teams, identify impediments to be removed and work with team dynamics to assist them in becoming efficient and high-performing teams
  • Develop an integrated project schedule including critical path for the end to end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement the product or service of the project and ensures resources and dependencies are identified.  Gain approval for the project plan from internal / external stakeholders and maintain the project plan
  • Ensure assigned resources are executing as planned.  Provide tracking and reporting to plan and develop and mentor project teams on implementation of recovery plans as necessary.
  • Participate in risk, issue and opportunity identification and mitigation or capture sessions and escalate to project or program leadership when assistance is required to remove road blocks. Control of scope, cost and timeline
  • Create and ensure adherence to an operating rhythm conducive to other required reporting or briefings including gate, phase or iteration reviews.  Capture and document all lessons learned or after action review comments and provides summary briefings as necessary.
  • Lead others and direct all phases of assigned projects by utilizing appropriate software development methodologies and life cycle systems, tools and quality standards.
  • Monitor, track, and control change to the project documentation such as requirements, configuration, performance measures, cost, schedule, project organization structure, and technology environment (release schedules, infrastructure changes, etc.) through formal version control.
  • Analyze project performance measures to determine options and appropriate actions to increase project performance.  Coordinate and provide cost reporting and analysis on a regular schedule.
  • Establish alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the project.  Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative interpersonal working relationships with others.
  • Effective communication of project status, issues and risks, to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Provide motivation, leadership and mentors project team members.  Provide feedback and performance assessments to appropriate management in a timely manner and address and ensure conflict among project team members is resolved.
  • Continuously seek to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of project management best practices and assist in the development and promote adoption of new processes or changes to existing processes within Digital Aviation that continue to mature the program/project management discipline.
  • Perform other related functions, as required or requested.
Desired Skills:
  • Agile Project Management or scrum master experience is a must. Scrum Master Certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in direct external customer interaction is required
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex software development projects
  • Proficient in MS Office tool suite and Project Management software tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical test results to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management best practices and processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard software development methodologies and life-cycles
  • Experience using Confluence, JIRA is preferred
  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within internal and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English.

  • Degree in engineering, mathematics, science or technology. 12 + yrs of Experience.       
  • Experience managing teams of Software developers working in an Agile software development environment
