Global Engineering People Strategy is seeking an Accelerated Leadership Program Engineering Manager (Virtual - Level K) to lead the day to day execution of the Accelerated Leadership Program focused on attracting, developing and retaining intern and early career talent through this exciting program.
The selected leader in this role will be the assigned manager for early career engineers within the program ranging from sophomore level intern and above program participants working full-time during the summer and part-time throughout their academic year.
The Accelerated Leadership Program (ALP) is an ExCo sponsored development program to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent starting in student’s sophomore year of college. The program provides participants with two paid internships, the opportunity to work one to twelve hours per week during the school year, and provides a full-time job opportunity upon graduation. Participants will have the opportunity to grow technically while experiencing the breadth and depth of Boeing through the program. They will gain exposure to varying sites and business units along with taking part in exclusive development opportunities each year including executive mentoring, immersive travel opportunities, challenging internship assignments, part-time opportunities during the school year, and through development opportunities in the program once they transition to a full-time role within the program. Occasional travel will be required to support program engagements (<10% time).
Position Responsibilities:
Assigned management responsibility, leadership and engagement of intern Accelerated Leadership Program participants
Lead, develop, coach and inspire early career intern participants in multiple engineering disciplines across sites
Lead day to day execution of the Accelerated Leadership Program
Lead internal and external program participant engagement including recruiting, participant selection & onboarding in collaboration with Global Talent Acquisition
Lead current participant engagement and collaboration activities
Support the planning and execution of the program engineering learning and development activities including mentorship assignments, program website development, and participant collaboration
Partner with other functions to lead program collaborative activities, including the development of the program website, a participant collaboration forum, etc.
Engage with engineering leaders from across the company to plan program events, maximizing participants experience in gaining a broad understanding of the company’s breadth and depth across business units, sites, and functional disciplines
Provide recommendations and support to the ALP Senior Manager to influence program strategy, support and guide program direction and planning
This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field
8+ years of experience in a technical or engineering field
2+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize and present information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Strong influence, relationship management & engagement skills
Program/project management skills/capabilities including project planning and scheduling
Proven ability to embrace change and drive continuous improvement in complex and ambiguous environments
Possess a broad understanding of various engineering disciplines business units and sites to guide participants in expanding their network and experience through diverse assignments and mentorship within the program
Previous success and experience with Engineering workforce strategy, Engineering talent acquisition / recruiting, and/or STEM outreach and engagement
Use of WebEx Teams, MatterMost or other participant engagement/ collaboration tools
Experience leading and/or recruiting intern and early career talent

Summary pay range: 119,850 – 187,450
