The Virtual Warfare Center is looking for a Experienced Software Engineer for the Test Team in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will be interested in significant travel (25-50%) and willing to regularly interface with external customers. This position will require considerable coordination across multiple software engineering teams to assure customer requirements are being met for in-person experimentation events. These in-person experimentation events occur on a regular basis and travel on-site during the events is expected. In-between events, the candidate will perform contract specific verification testing and development in St. Louis to assure overall quality of the Virtual Warfare Center's software tool suite.
Running and maintaining existing test suite.
Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
Coordinate with software development teams to help ensure first time quality in our tools and simulations.
Work with experimentation teams preparing for a customer event to test their environment.
Facilitate execution of customer experimentation and training events.
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Possess a Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study).
3-5 years’ experience as a software developer
3-5 years’ of professional experience with C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with shell scripting languages
Experience working in a Scrum Agile environment
Experience working with Bash (Linux/Unix shell)
Security+ and/or Linux+ Certification
Candidate should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills, be customer-oriented, positive, flexible, and a strong team player.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
