Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering and Production Capability (AEP) delivers critical sustainment and design engineering services to our Defence customers. We provide people, expertise, processes and tools to deliver these services to meet Boeing's program execution and growth opportunities.
Our team consists of engineers who develop modifications, repairs and continuing airworthiness services to support Boeing-managed aircraft fleets for the ADF. We work hand-in-hand with the customer to develop and maintain mission-ready capabilities.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Leader to join the Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability. This is a key role reporting directly to the AEP Director, having several front line leaders and direct reports. In this leadership role you will influence and be a part of a number of exciting aerospace programs including ATS, Super Hornet and Growler, Chinook and training helicopters, and C-17 Heavy Lift.
This role can be based at either Williamtown/Newcastle, NSW or Brisbane/Amberley, QLD to accommodate candidate preference.
The successful leader will:
- Develop, support and engage their team within a matrixed organisation.
- Continue to grow an open, inclusive and innovative team culture.
- Collaborate, inspire and mentor front line leaders.
- Contribute to the Capability's growth strategy and technology roadmaps.
- Participate in key decision making forums to further BDA strategy.
- Assist with the conduct of independent strategic reviews and assessments.
- Be an advocate for diversity and inclusion and be actively involved in leading change.
- Collaborate with your peers to enhance Boeing in the eyes of our customers.
- Lead to ensure your team makes excellent and safe technical decisions.
To be considered for this leadership opportunity you will have:
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
- Proven leadership experience within a matrix organisation
- Have previously lead a team of engineers and technical professionals. (Previous experience in a similar environment will assist you in being successful in this role.
- Excellent communication skills and who can engage and motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
