The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's Commercial Derivative Aircraft Division is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead the development of the Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Mission System. The initial assignment for this role is expected to be the Boeing Defence Australia Mission Systems IPT for the UK AEW&C Program. This role can be based in Brisbane, Williamtown or Adelaide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Technical engagement with key customer, Boeing & supplier stakeholders to shape the scope and solution of Mission System products
  • Developing statement of works for Mission Systems products
  • Leading development of technical baselines based on customer requirements
  • Leading scheduling and estimation against statement of works and technical baselines
  • Leading project execution of Mission Systems product scope in accordance with agreed statement of works
  • Participation in technical and programmatic reviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective engagement with supplier management, contracts, business support program management, and other IPTs to achieve company objectives

 

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in performing and leading complex technical development activities
  • Experience in delivering projects in an AUSDEFCON contract environment
  • Experience with management of the development, integration and installation of complex systems covering military commutations & control equipment, sensors and software
  • Cost and schedule management experience
  • Ability to resolve complex problems that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a group environment and with people across all organisational levels
