The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Supplier Management and Procurement Agent to join the cutting-edge Autonomous Air Vehicle Team. This position plays an essential role, conducting, coordinating, managing and integrating parts, products and suppliers into the production environment. This position may be based in Brisbane or Melbourne.

Core Responsibilities

  • Integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies
  • Negotiates pricing and contract terms and conditions.
  • Conducts risk, issues and opportunities management.
  • Manages supply and demand, schedules, supplier quality, delivery and financial performance.
  • Initiates and executes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategies.
  • Manages production shortages and emergency expediting
  • Acts as the primary point of contact between the Suppliers and Program, and where applicable other program stakeholders such as Production, Quality and Engineering
  • Provide timely advice to the program on any supplier related issues
  • Review and prepare internal supplier performance metrics/reports;
  • Develop and implement supplier recovery plans
  • Integration reporting of all parts into production facilities.
  • Primary POC for Production to escalate supplier quality and schedule issues
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Supply Team members.

  • Customer/Supplier Knowledge. Knowledge of customer's/supplier's organization, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints, etc.
  • Detailed Supplier Knowledge. Knowledge of suppliers' capabilities to support Boeing production includes, but are not limited to production, technical, service and design management
  • Manufacturing Knowledge. Applies knowledge of aerospace product configuration, assembly, disassembly, re-assembly, testing, manufacturing capabilities, planning, systems, support equipment, and tooling to support emergent and routine requirements.
  • Procurement Processes. Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various procurement departments/disciplines.
  • Supplier Tech Management. Knowledge of project and supplier techniques (e.g., design reviews, schedule reviews, production readiness) required for the management of the supplier's technical activities (e.g., design, development, test). The ability to develop technical requirements and evaluate supplier performance as related to those requirements.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge. Knowledge of supply chain requirements (e.g., replenishment, repairs, cycle time, inventory levels, scrap rate, pricing, suppliers, contracts) and the affect on the business and profitability.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A sound understanding of Supply Chain methodology and processes
  • Previous experience in Integrated Logistics Fundamentals
  • Demonstrated experience of Aeronautical product requirements
  • Ability to identify, establish and promote supply process improvements
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling open and effective communication among stakeholders
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite
  • Defence Industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet NV1 security clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
