Entering the HR profession through an apprenticeship is the ideal way to gain valuable, practical experience, applying your learning as it takes place.
HR apprenticeships focus on workplace-based learning. You'll also complete professional development training and spend a percentage of your time in the classroom. The apprenticeship culminates in an End-Point Assessment (EPA), where you'll have your skills, knowledge and behaviours evaluated against the relevant apprenticeship standard.
This Apprenticeship is a level 5, this provides a route for a career in HR, some typical responsibilities may include handling day-to-day queries, using HR systems to keep records and working on a range of HR processes, varying from transactional to relatively complex issues (from recruitment through to retirement).
HR Services Specialists serve as the initial point of contact for our employees, interacting with them on a daily basis assisting with a multitude of general HR needs and helping with a standard set of HR service offerings. This position also supports the broader HR community and leaders with transactional and administrative activities. This position requires a professional demeanor, exceptional customer service, a sense of urgency; the ability to organize and prioritize.
The HR Apprentice will support the HR Services team in providing an efficient and streamlined service to the business with regard to all HR-related administrative tasks. This Apprenticeship will include rotations throughout the wider HR Organisation where you will gain valuable learning and experience within Onboarding, Employee Benefits, Payroll & Performance Management.

Responsibilities:
- To deliver HR Services and first level HR support to employees, managers, and the HR community.
- Create change to contract letters and complete other actions relating to the employee lifecycle
- Ensure all Right to work details are up to date and meet UK regulations
- Help to manage the HR inbox
- Ensure all personnel files are set up legally and kept up to date
- Ensure the maintenance of employee records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality
- Attend team meetings with HR team and COE
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Process actions via workday
- Respond to employee queries using the case management sys
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- GCSE English and Maths at grade A-C or equivalent
- Previous experience working within any Human resources discipline or previous experience of people management
- A passion to work with and help people everyday through moments that matter
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work alone without constant direction
- Excellent eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workload and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and in all circumstances
