Job Description

Boeing has embarked upon the journey to become best in aerospace and an enduring global industrial champion by 2025. One of the key enablers is Second Century Enterprise Systems (2CES) through which Boeing is transforming systems and processes across the enterprise to enable better decision making, improved quality, and drive both cost savings and revenue generation

 

The 2CES strategic components are:

 

  • Enterprise Resource Management (ERP): Business operations optimization.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): End-to-end product management
  • Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM): Factory of the future
  • Second Century Human Resources (2CHR): HR services delivered through an agile business model
  • Whilst the design, deployment and support of these systems is US centred, international business units are fully engaged in the programme, with BDUK being a pilot operating business model for ERP international implementation

We are looking to hire a highly experienced Business Systems Architect to support the implementation, integration and benefits realization of 2CES within BDUK and the deployment of ERP in Boeing international (outside of the US) business units

 

You will need deep business systems/architecture knowledge / experience and a proven record for the successful design and implementation and benefits realisation of enterprise systems, ideally in a complex engineering based international environment

 

Possessing the strong business partnering, stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skills required to drive successful programme delivery and the realisation of projected business benefits.

The role is within IT International business area, reporting the BDUK CIO / IT Regional Leader for Europe

 

Responsibilities

  • Review / refine the existing BDUK systems vision and strategy, communicate, and gain leadership team endorsement
  • Through engagement with the enterprise 2CES ERP, PLM, MOM and 2CHR project teams, map the overall 2CES solution vision to the BDUK business model, assess applicability, define capability enhancement and productivity opportunities, and identify attendant business impacts
  • Establish stakeholder engagement, identify key players / influencers, and build the relationships within BDUK required to support successful 2CES implementation
  • Engage with the 2CES enterprise global process and solution owners to raise the profile of BDUK, achieve required levels of consideration, engagement, and implementation prioritisation
  • Provide the planning, coordination and communication by which 2CES can be realised in the UK
  • Establish the programme governance framework through which 2CES is implemented in BDUK. Identify, plan and propose individual projects, defining for each, the scope and required resource. Gain approval and advance through to formal project launch
  • Facilitate and support project appointments, and provide on-going guidance to project managers and subject matter experts
  • Be an active steering committee member for all business systems related projects
  • Ensure systems are deployed in a manner that support the BDUK business model and the timing of new aircraft programmes
  • Promote and support the development of IT Business Partners who work closely with functions / programmes, identifying opportunities, gathering requirements, defining and delivering business system solutions (including 2CES)
  • Work with change management and communication teams to help transition the business to the new way of working (organisation, process, data and tools) and drive the realisation of benefits
  • Participate with the 2CES Deployment Planning Team, championing international considerations
  • Establish BDUK as a pilot operating business model for wider ERP international implementation
  • Work with ITI colleagues to define the vision and strategy by which International engages with the 2CES programme, plans deployments and supports delivery of solutions
  • Help identify the required ITI 2CES organisational structure, operating rhythm and governance framework
  • Leveraging 2CES solutions and wider international application knowledge, create an ITI solution catalogue that addresses the various international business models, ranging from warehouse operations to full aircraft production

Qualifications
  • Ability to define the business systems vision for an organisation and the strategy to implement. 
  • Experience of planning and leading multiple concurrent company projects.
  • Extensive experience in the application of business, engineering, manufacturing, and human resource systems.
  • Track record for the successful implementation of ERP (ideally SAP) systems within a large organisation.
  • Business partnering, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills at all business levels.
  • Board level engagement and communication.
  • Strong business process knowledge and business change management experience that supports realisation of business benefits of system implementations.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility in a complex international  matrix organisation by evidencing knowledge and experience.
