Job Description

Boeing Defence United Kingdom is seeking an experienced purchasing professional to act as an authorized agent of the company with the responsibility to commit company resources through contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods and services

The position will support new business campaigns and sustaining operations for our Phantom Works, Government Services, and Autonomous Systems activities, among others. The Procurement Agent will execute and manage contracts for a variety of products and services that range in value and complexity. Primary responsibilities include development of supply chain design, source selection, managing negotiations of supplier price and contract terms and conditions, and preparing contractual documents and binding agreements

Overall this position requires a detail oriented individual who can manage multiple complex projects expeditiously, under deadline, while ensuring that policies and procedures are followed.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an authorized agent of the company with the responsibility to commit company resources through contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods and services.
  • Participates in the new business acquisition process.
  • Develops procurement solutions to best support customer requirements consistent with program and company goals and objectives.
  • Identifies viable sources. Performs source selection tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Develops and issues requests for information, quotations and proposals. Conducts bidder conferences as required. Conducts proposal analysis process and selects best value source. Hosts source selection/procurement review boards.
  • Develops negotiation strategy based upon proposal analysis. Leads the supplier negotiation process. Negotiates pricing and all other elements of the contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepares and executes the negotiated contractual documents and all other pertinent or necessary binding agreements with suppliers (e.g., teaming, administrative, intellectual property, proprietary information, product support, bonded store, etc.).
  • Defines performance expectations and establishes relevant metrics. Gathers and evaluates performance data. Monitors supplier capability, capacity and business health. Leads regular supplier performance reviews. Develops improvement plans and monitors progress.
  • Collaborates with functions and reviews data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks and issues. Conducts root cause analysis. Develops mitigation plans and monitors to closure. Participates in or leads supplier risk assessments.
  • Interprets and enforces contract terms and conditions

  • University degree preferred
  • Experience leading proposals, contract terms and conditions development, and negotiation efforts.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience supporting and leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active UK SC security clearance
  • Experience working both Fixed Price and Flexibly Priced Contracts
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation for UK government contracts
  • Communication skills and customer focus are critical to be successful in the role
  • Ability to be self-directed in work and/or previous experience in a self-directed role
  • Strong business acumen and adept problem solving ability
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
