Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking Experienced HVAC Technicians to support our business in Springfield and Chantilly, VA. This organization supports mission critical government programs.
HVAC Technicians will be working with a multi-disciplinary team to quickly, effectively address facilities and maintenance needs for a U.S. Government customer at multiple locations throughout Northern Virginia. Candidate can expect to travel up tp 40% of the time throughout the region. This position is for flexible 1st shifts; Monday - Friday 6:00a.m. – 2:30p.m. or four 10 hour days from 1:00p.m. – 11:30p.m. Monday - Thursday. The candidate will independently maintain and repair HVAC mechanical equipment in a government facility. These systems include, but are not limited to;
Electric motors and controllers
Condenser water pumps
Condenser water filtration systems
Cooling towers and auxiliary equipment
Circulating pumps
Air handling units
Direct Expansion air handling units
Computer room air handling units
Telecom room air handling units
Exhaust, Ventilation, and Fresh Air fans
Ductwork
Sound absorbing section
Electric Heating Coils
Air filtering
Fan powered terminal devices
Water coolers
Ice machines, refrigerators, and freezers
All associated attachments, piping, accessories, controls, and fixtures
Position Responsibilities:
- Utilizes HVAC codes, regulations and safety procedures. to include rough-in and lay out, perform preventive maintenance on equipment, and troubleshoot more complex problems
- Uses blueprints or design specifications to install or repair HVAC systems
- Connects systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other components
- Installs electrical wiring and controls and test for proper operation
- Inspects and maintain customers’ HVAC systems
- Repairs or replace worn or defective parts
- Responds to trouble calls and resolves problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Demonstrates an understanding of customer service concepts (i.e., courteous, punctual, honest, etc.)
- Assists other trades as needed
- Lifting and carrying up to 35lbs, climbing ladders, walking on a grid platform and on rooftops
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, walking and continuous standing
- Uses hand and power tools to construct, renovate, maintain and repair facilities and equipment, under minimal supervision
- May receive specialized equipment training as required to maintain facilities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of our listed locations.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph Post-Start is required.
Security Clearance/Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Minimum 4 years HVAC experience
- Capable of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 35lbs
- A valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
