The Government Satellite Systems, National Programs team is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join its team in Chantilly, VA or Mountain View, CA.
The program seeks a highly talented, motivated, and creative software developer to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of an agile software program for the national intelligence community.
Software design, coding, and unit/integration testing of customer desired features.
Develop & modify new and existing applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve various software issues in support of an operational system.
Contribute to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture.
Develop & maintain software architecture on a cloud infrastructure with several consumer-facing web applications.
This position requires an active TS clearance/SCI eligible (Top Secret clearance /Sensitive Compartmented Information eligible based on a Tier 5 (T5) (formerly SSBI -Single Scope Background Investigation).
This position also requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years’ experience in foundational CS knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns
Knowledge of JIRA, GIT and other work management software
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Leadership experience/abilities and ability to training or mentor junior engineers
Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management is preferred.
Experience using dependency management (Ivy, Maven, Gradle)
Experience using cloud based infrastructure (AWS)
Experience/knowledge of the GEOINT domain
Experience working as part of an agile software development product team
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
