Job Description
System Admin Role with a large and complex environment including UNIX servers, storage, network, database. Able to work independently with a support and remote team as factory maintenance and development. Technical understanding of software development and maintenance is critical and able to develop scripting language to administer and monitor an operational environment. Work is located in North Virginia.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • System Admin role with UNIX background (Solaris, RHL and some windows servers)Able to communicate effectively with various organizations of users and customers
  • Scripting language:  shell scripting, Korn shell, Python
  • In-depth understanding of large cluster server-client architecture
  • Familiarization in cloud technology is preferred
  • Flexible work schedule and ad-hoc support to on-site users during core hours
  • Familiarization of ICD 503 security controls is preferred

Qualifications

This position requires an active Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Typical Education & Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

 

Basic Skills:

  • Experience in software or systems testing

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure for satellite Ground Segment Operations and Maintenance
  • Experience producing technical communication, both written and verbal
