Boeing is currently seeking a MILSATCOM Ground Software Manager to join their team in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position will support the Boeing Space & Launch (S&L) Software Development and Integration Capability, within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
A successful candidate will lead a diverse technical team providing design, development, and sustainment program support to programs such as Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES), Next Generation Operational Control Segment (OCX), among other programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering.
Develops and executes project and process plans across multiple program areas.
Implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
Performs staffing function for software engineering discipline across a diverse program portfolio
Manages a group of roughly 15-25 direct reports
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
Inspires continuous improvement, safety, and quality in engineering
Drives change, efficiency, innovative process improvement, and exploration of new technologies.
Champions agile software development.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years' experience leading or managing software engineering activities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Security Clearance.
2+ years of experience utilizing Agile development process
Experience in the Satellite Communication Domain (SATCOM)
