Job Description
Position Overview
The Boeing Space & Launch Division's Advanced Systems Group (ASG) program is seeking Experienced Systems Engineers (Level 4) to provide leadership in the development of our nation’s next generation of satellite ground systems. These positions are for systems engineers who enjoy being leaders; offering the opportunity to provide overall direction for major sections of our ground system development staff and programs. The successful candidate will be leading the development of cutting edge technology in an agile environment with multiple long term projects needing support.  We seek candidates who have advanced skills in systems engineering and want to bring their skills to the next level through mentoring and hands-on development.

As a member of the ASG Team, you'll be involved in the entire ground development lifecycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer’s delivered system. The team will develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for multiple ASG projects and systems from single components to larger functional systems.  The ASG Team offers a collaborative causal, but professional mentoring environment with long-term potential for career growth into technical and management positions.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Full life-cycle development including systems and sub-system requirements analysis.
  • Support ground system architecture.
  • Designs system integration and test, and verification.
  • Formal qualification demonstration to assure that the ground system satisfies the intent of the customer requirements.
  • Will be trained in the use of Boeing and Ground processes and procedures.

This position requires an active/current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic (Required) Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics is required.
  • Experience decomposing system/subsystem requirements.
  • Experience in system functional analysis and architecture.
  • Experience in conducting Systems Engineering trade studies to support system architecture development.
  • Experience in model based engineering.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
  • Experience working in the team of systems engineers using scaled agile development process.
  • 10 or more years' experience in requirement analysis, ground system interfaces, network, and system integration and validation.
  • UML modeling, test-driven development, agile process and DevOps experience desired.
  • Familiarity with ground system development that includes requirements analysis and formal test.
  • Experience in integration of COTS hardware and software system, UML or other modeling language and DOORs.
Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
