Job Description

The Boeing Satellite Systems programs is seeking an Experienced Information Technology Engineer (Level 4). This position will lead and provide technical expertise for the development, definition and application of Product Lifecycle Management and Systems Engineering tools in support of the development of complex space based communications & network systems.  This position will reside in El Segundo CA.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the management/administration of requirements and verification, general understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and support of system engineering integration and test operations. 
  • Lead and guide Integrated Product Teams throughout the product life cycle, integrating data across tools and providing analyses from multiple sources/tools.
  • Lead documentation of engineering processes and providing task status and tracking metrics. 
  • Facilitate and support systems engineering tasks associated with requirement decomposition, MBSE, requirement traceability, and verification and validation of large complex systems. 
  • Participate in peer reviews, support design reviews and other design-related activities.

This position requires an active/current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).


Basic (Required) Qualifications 

  • Successful completion of a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within 4 years.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience.
  • 4+ years advanced experience using DOORS.
  • Experienced with Systems Engineering processes in the areas of requirements management, with knowledge of change management and configuration management. 

Preferred (Desired) Qualifications

  • Experienced with programming languages and computing equipment, capabilities and usage. (C++,Visual Basic).
  • Experienced with Data Analytics using DOORS and system engineering tools.
  • Tool trade studies, tool integrations, Requirements Traceability, and Modeling & Simulation.
  • Strong programming languages and computing equipment, capabilities and usage. (Java, Python, DXL, SQL)
  • Experience working with engineering departments/organizations, the tasks they perform, and how these departments interact.
  • Functional Architecture - MBSE, Knowledge of functional architecture and methodologies.
  • General understanding of DoDAF Framework
Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
