Job Description

The Electronics Products organization at the Boeing Company's Satellite Development Center in El Segundo, California has an opening for a senior electrical engineer (level 5) to provide technical leadership in the area of analog and power electronics, primarily for space applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of state-of-the art electronics for space-based applications
  • Duties will include circuit design, requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification
  • Technical support for production and test of space-qualified electronics
  • Ideally, work experience should include exposure to digital and analog circuit design.
  • Lead teams in the development of state-of-the art electronics and power supplies for space-based applications.
  • Leads teams in the design and analysis of space electronics and power supplies.
  • Applies lessons learned to the improvement of designs.

Qualifications
Typical Education and/or Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Analog and/or Power Electronics
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in analysis for stability, radiation effects, and aging
  • Ability to mentor less-experienced engineers
  • Project leadership capability to be used as needed
  • Breadth of knowledge to develop next-generation electronics architectures and technology strategies
  • Able to support make/buy decisions and proposals
  • In-depth knowledge of analog and power electronics product development, from initial definition of requirements, through conceptual design, detailed design and analysis, through final production and test
