Senior Space Vehicle Systems Engineer
The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Space Vehicle Systems Engineer (Level 5) to support our Space & Launch programs in El Segundo, CA. As a Systems Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art satellite systems for space-based applications for commercial, civil and/or national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)
- Lead an integrated team through the development of space vehicle/subsystem designs, requirements, and interfaces via trade studies, analyses, and technical design reviews.
Lead a team through the generation of detailed requirements for the space vehicle, flowing those requirements to subsystems and units.
- Lead a team through the development of space vehicle verification plans.
- Support ConOps development, functional analysis, decomposition, and generate operational products.
- Develop the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
Resolve cross-functional technical issues and manage change control.
Support hardware procurement engineering, design reviews, and unit sell-off.
Lead an integrated team through the verification, troubleshooting, and selloff of space vehicle requirements.
- Mentor the program junior systems engineers and review their work for quality.
Interface with customers, suppliers, cross-functional teams, senior technologists.

**This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been successfully completed within the last 5 years. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Basic (Required) Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering, physics, or related field is required.
- 10 years of experience working on satellite or space based systems.
- 5 years of experience in engineering leadership.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications
- Experience developing solutions to complex technical problems.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal).
Typical Education / Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
