Summary:

 

This position is part of a Portfolio Product Management Integrated Program Team (IPT) that owns the business aspects and performance for the Data Development and Services Program (Electronic charts, NavData, Geospatial Data). This position drives product definition, pricing, roadmaps, manages the boarding of services to the market and develops the product maintenance and support requirements.  This position focuses on products and services for the Unmanned Aerial Systems/Vehicles (UAS/UAV) a.k.a. Drone market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

 

• Communicates product configuration requirements to Finance, Marketing, Billing and IT organization in order to efficiently collaborate and coordinate data, asset and product specification development needed to meet the product roadmap targets

 

• Documents end to end business requirements and understands data needs for Nav Solutions hardware, software and back-office infrastructure systems

 

• Owns the feasibility interface and support between operations and product portfolio management

 

• Understands Navigation Solutions product roadmaps for all products that need navigation data

 

• Works with external OEMs for product definitions, pricing, royalties and the implementation of new and modified product services to the backoffice systems.

 

• Creates new service request documents for new products

 

• Defines product data integration and configuration of assets and data for products

 

• Documents product architecture and describes business process

 

• Participates in data governance decisions

 

• Owns responsibility for the Data Services product plans, roadmaps, and product release plans

 

• Develops and maintains the product services roadmap including specifying product value proposition, product specifications, service specifications and pricing strategy

 

• Manages services aspects of the Product Lifecycle Management process including development and presentation of business cases

 

• Serves as the single point of contact for all ongoing product decisions, insuring implementation of the decisions, consistency in communication and effective client communication strategies

 

• Collaborates closely within IPT and with all internal and external support organizations including marketing, sales, distribution, support, technology services, data services, legal/contracts and more to drive product decisions

 

• Develop competitive response and contingency plans to address market-specific needs

 

• Attends trade shows, industry conferences and customers/partners meetings

 

Education/Experience:

 

• BA in Business, Marketing, Finance, Technology or equivalent work experience; MBA preferred.  Experience in GIS preferred.  Experience in Product Lifecycle Management desired.

 

• 10 yrs. experience in cloud data portal technology and services highly desired

 

• 10 yrs. experience in leading Agile scrum teams in the development of software products desired

 

• 10 yrs. experience in product development/management, project and program management and/or financial analysis desired

 

• 8 yrs. software or data service product development experience helpful.

 

• Proven track record of managing products especially related to UAS

 

• Extensive experience in presenting and communicating ideas to key stakeholders across businesses

 

• Holder of FAA Part 107 – Remote Pilot License desired

 

• Experience working for an small UAS aerial platform or software company desired

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

• Demonstrated ability to create quantitative based business analyses

 

• Demonstrated ability to translate quantitative analysis into actionable business strategies

 

• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

 

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal and team skills

 

• Working knowledge of RTCA DO-200 quality processes

 

• Knowledge of U.S. domestic and international UAS aviation regulations, customer requirements, competitors, software products and related technologies

 

• Knowledge of  mobile and or web software development

 

• Familiarity with LIDAR, Imagery and GIS analytical tools
