The Opportunity -

The AH-64E Apache is the world's most advanced and proven attack helicopter. It integrates innovative technologies to aid the crew in decision making, offering a new level of battlefield dominance through enhanced performance, increased situational awareness, superior survivability, and improved target detection, acquisition and engagement.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Officer (Avionics),to support the AH-64E Apachehelicopter program. The Australian Apaches will join the growing global fleet of more than 1280 aircraft operating in 18 countries, including coalition and regional partners.

The role is based in Enoggera, Brisbane with the Army customer in an integrated Attack Helicopter System Program Office (AHSPO).

As the Technical Officer (Avionics) you will:

  • Provide technical support for maintenance, repair and preventive measures that ensure continued safe and economic operations of electrical/avionics systems. Acts as a conduit between engineering, maintenance and supply chain.
  • Communicates and works to articulate and resolve design and operational issues and concerns with Engineers and maintenance personnel.
  • Applies avionics systems technical knowledge to research, develop, test and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs and technical data.
  • Assists software, armament, and avionics engineering personnel with fault finding, troubleshooting and solution development.
  • Develops in-service correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Develops, maintains and releases electrical/avionics drawings, systems designs or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
  • Required AASB Engineering Authority: Logistics Engineer.


This role is expected to commence 1 July 2025.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • [Essential] Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), 3 years+ technical experience in avionics/electrical maintenance and/or engineering teams at supervisory level.
  • (Desirable) prior avionics technician in defence service or defence industry/airline experience on rotary wing/combat aircraft systems
  • Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.


Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
