The Boeing Defense Space & Security KC-46 Tanker Program is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated, and multi-disciplined engineering manager (Level K) to lead the Military/Tactical Data Networks (MDN/TDN) & Aircraft Self Defensive Systems team. This role will be responsible for the technical and project leadership of an integrated military/tactical computer data network subsystem suite of electronics hardware, as well as the aircraft radar warning and countermeasures self defensive systems. Leadership responsibilities will include management of the design, integration, lab/aircraft testing, airworthiness certification, new business proposals, and supplier subcontract management for the avionics hardware. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing the labor and material finances as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the team.
The Boeing KC-46 Pegasus is the USAF’s new aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Boeing 767-2C aircraft and modified per USAF specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft using either the Hose & Drogue systems or the Boom. The KC-46 is also equipped with a suite of self defensive and tactical situational awareness systems that allows the aircraft to get closer to the fight when supporting combat missions.
Position Responsibilities:
Report to the KC-46 Mission Systems Avionics (MSA) Senior Manager and will represent the MDN/TDN & Self Defensive Systems team for the KC-46 Tanker Program.
Provides leadership, project management, and guidance to the engineering teams responsible for the system design/architecture, airworthiness certification, technical supplier management, production deliveries support, USAF fleet sustainment support, and RCCA investigations.
Oversees the definition and execution of critical lab and aircraft tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.
Provides leadership in technical management of appropriate aspects of critical supplier, internal Boeing manufacturing, and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements and on time deliveries.
Fulfills the role of Control Account Manager (CAM) for the team; responsible for ensuring up to date staffing forecasts, proper employee charging, and that costs and schedules remain on target.
Champions employee performance development and career mentoring.
Gathers information and leads the technical team in support of international customer campaigns and new business development proposals.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years of experience in an engineering management or leadership role
Knowledge of and experience with Program Management Best Practices
Experience with FAA certification or airworthiness
Familiarity with airplane avionics and network protocols
Experience managing supplier technical contracts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience in equipment management
3+ years of experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
3+ years of experience do you have conducting test in a lab or production environment and/or designing avionics components and systems
Have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months.

Summary pay range: 115,000 – 204,000
