Boeing Production Engineering (PE), an organization of over 4,000 employees, supports all aspects of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from product conception to customer support. PE designs, deploys, operates and maintains the production system that enables the build of the airplanes for The Boeing Company.

PE is the hub of all activity within Boeing as we coordinate with everyone who has anything to do with the airplane including design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. We also establish common processes, standards and procedures that the company uses to comply with government, regulatory and competitive obligations.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is recruiting Manufacturing Planners to support all locations and programs within the Puget Sound area, such as 777X, 787, 747, 767, 737,Tanker programs and more. In addition, we have several automation / robotics positions available, which support complex and highly automated production system equipment.  Positions may include providing creative solutions for new equipment, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for existing automated systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Researches and gathers data in support of the investigation of issues. Provides recommendations and executes the solution following standard policy and procedures.
  • Coordinates minor changes, ensuring productibility, developmental, and production/ postproduction problems are resolved.
  • Assists with productibility assessments for part or product designs. Assists in providing input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.
  • Assists in the co-development of minor product changes with internal business partners, work statements and sequencing of events to develop schedules that support delivery commitments. Applies standard processes and procedures.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating specification and delivery requirements with internal and external suppliers. Assists in reviewing supplier data submittals.
  • Creates and maintains manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations using Company and regulatory procedures that incorporates the intent of engineering, customer and supplier requirements to document as-built configuration.
  • Assists in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents. Coordinates and recommends changes to routine documents, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Assists in tooling dispositions following company and customer requirements.  
This requisition supports 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift positions and possible 1st shift with rotating 2nd shift support requirements. Candidate will be notified at the time of interview request the shift that they are being considered for.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing and/or a production environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • At least 1 year of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor
Typical Education / Experience:
  • AA degree in related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position is located in the Puget Sound area of Seattle, WA and may offer relocation assistance.
