Job Description

Argon ST, A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has tremendous career development opportunities for highly motivated engineers to join their team as Integration and Test Engineers at their Fairfax, VA office. At Argon ST Engineers integrate hardware and software components into a highly scalable communications systems. We develop and analyze requirements, design, develop algorithms, interface, implement, test and debug Argon software product lines. This position will provide a great learning opportunity to see technology at the forefront of defense electronics, enabling our war fighters to understand the RF environment around them.

In this position the candidate will perform the following functions: applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of communications and signal processing systems including new product development. Derives and develops basic architectures, functional requirements, refinements and product designs. Assists product planning, including technical, cost, and risk factors leading to multidisciplinary trade studies. Performs system software integration, including system testing and debug. Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management and customers

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • US Citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance.
  • 3 years’ experience with computing equipment and operating systems, primarily Linux/Unix and Windows, including system configuration and security.  
  • General knowledge of network communication concepts and architectures, including network transport services and concepts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of some programming languages is desired (preferred C++ and/or Java), with the strong candidate having knowledge build processes and debug skills. Familiarity with software development tools, including compilers and configuration management tools is a plus.
  • Systems integration experience, including application database and integration across computing platforms.
  • General knowledge of system design, analysis and testing, including the ability to perform broad multi-disciplinary trade studies.
  • Experience with advanced scripting languages (OO), for example Perl or Python, is also a strong asset.
