Job Description
Boeing Defense, Space & Security's Electronic and Information Solutions (E&IS) group, a subsidiary of Digital Receiver Technology (DRT), is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer to join their team in Germantown, MD. A qualified candidate must demonstrate the ability to assist with Design and Implementation of Real-Time Software Applications for DRT's Software Defined Radio. A successful candidate will have an extreme desire to learn with great passion and work ethic to solve difficult problems.The candidate will work with moderate supervision.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide end user solutions
  • Assists in Design, Implementation, Test, Document, and Maintain the current and next generation Software Defined Radios and Electronic Systems
  • Assist in the Architecture, Development, Integration & Test of software components into fully functional software systems
  • Write test procedures and document test results to ensure all system and derived requirements are met
  • Support Business Development, Project Management and DRT's Customer Base

Qualifications
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2019
  • Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems (OS)
  • Experience with developing application software using Windows or Linux OS and VMs
  • Experience and/or background in software testing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 
  • Experience with both Windows Operating System (OS) and Linux OS Application Software Development 
  • Proficient with C++ and Java
  • Understanding of multi-threaded applications and systems
  • Course work completed in Operating Systems, Data structure and/or Algorithms
  • WiFi, Cellular communications/protocols, and/or networking
  • Experience with developing applications with socket communications UDP/TCP/IP, etc.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Angular.js or React.js 
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies for Software Development
  • Experience with version control systems such as SVN or Git
  • An understanding of multi-threaded and Object Oriented Design methodologies
This position will be located in Germantown, MD and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in the area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
