Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.

We are seeking an experienced Product Support Engineer (PSE) to join the Chinook Rotary Wing Enterprise (RWE) In‑Service Engineering team. Based at Boeing Fleetlands (Gosport)  and supporting the UK RAF Chinook fleet, this is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role providing in‑service engineering support and acting as the primary technical interface for maintenance matters.

The successful candidate will possess substantial, demonstrable Chinook experience and thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures, engineering standards and applicable regulatory requirements, and will be accountable for helping to minimise aircraft downtime and restore mission capability.

The PSE will deliver technical leadership and practical support for both on‑aircraft and off‑aircraft activities, conducting fault diagnosis using published resources and engineering judgement. This includes the interpretation and application of mechanical system design, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional test data, supplier documentation, engineering drawings, change memos and program directives to define delivery configurations and corrective actions.

The role encompasses leading root‑cause investigations, applying rigorous diagnostic methodologies and converting engineering outcomes into authorised maintenance data—such as procedures, repair instructions, Service Bulletins/Notes and change memos—that operators and MROs can implement in the field.

Working within the Aircraft Document Set, Structural Repair Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalogue, Operations Manual, Component Maintenance Manual, Wiring Diagram Manual and Engineering Instructions, the PSE will investigate and resolve complex technical, maintenance, operational and quality issues.

Where discrepancies cannot be resolved by the customer, the PSE will undertake analytical investigations and apply engineering analysis to resolve component and system problems, ensuring continued airworthiness and efficient operation.

The role also involves monitoring product performance, analysing field data and providing recommendations to reduce recurrence of in‑service issues, driving continuous improvement through CI events and supporting obsolescence management to enhance fleet supportability.

Collaboration is central to success in this position. The PSE will coordinate across internal Boeing functions, including engineering, logistics, quality, supply chain and design authority and will engage with external stakeholders such as RAF operators, MROs, suppliers and regulators to deliver end‑to‑end in‑service solutions.

The role requires the provision of technical advice and mentorship to customer personnel and Boeing colleagues, development and the promotion of best practices to uphold and improve Boeing engineering standards.

A practical understanding of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, schematics, functional testing and control is essential, together with excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear technical engagement with diverse stakeholders.
