Job Description
The purpose of the Enterprise Supply Chain Sustainability (ESG) team is driving supply chain aspects in Boeing’s sustainability objectives, industry association engagements and compliance obligations. The scope of work encompasses topics in environmental, social and governance domains relevant to Boeing’s supply chains across all business units, indirect spend and global subsidiaries. The Enterprise Supply Chain ESG team is aligned to the enterprise Supply Chain Operations Council with a secondary line of accountability to the Global Enterprise Sustainability organization.
The Roles
The Enterprise Supply Chain ESG team has an opening for a proactive, critical thinking, organized project manager that is adept at building business relationships, business process strategies, execution resource baselines and business infrastructure. A focus on integrated scheduling, shaping stakeholder expectations and driving schedule performance is also key. This role works with the Enterprise Supply Chain ESG team Sr. Manager for overarching SOW portfolio management, governing business operations and stakeholder engagement.
Job Responsibilities
- Shape Boeing’s enterprise supply chain sustainability strategy and drive a portfolio of implementation projects that account for digitally enabled business processes, metrics, compliance obligations, governance documentation and stakeholder communication. Apply project management principles to effectively socialize, prioritize, resource, plan and execute efforts.
- Collaborate to develop and implement internal and external communication strategies and content to publicize the company’s supply chain sustainability efforts to a diverse target audience.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and compliance obligations
- Partner with Enterprise Supply Chain ESG team Sr. Mgr. to perform industry associations supply chain sustainability responsibilities and commitments
- Engage with diverse external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, investors, sustainability rating agencies/standards bodies, non-profit organizations, and industry and academic groups) to understand stakeholder perspectives and inform the enterprise supply chain ESG strategy
- Engage with internal stakeholders across functions, business units and subsidiaries to address supply chain aspects in corporate value chain sustainability focus areas (e.g. human rights, GHG management, codes of conduct, etc.) and scale/govern standard supply chain sustainability processes and metrics throughout the enterprise.
- Contribute to identification and capture of opportunities with suppliers, non-profit organizations and industry groups to demonstrate supply chain sustainability stewardship
- Contribute to supply chain input to Boeing’s annual Sustainability and Non-financial Report, various ESG reports and disclosures, questionnaires, industry surveys, and engaging with key ESG ratings and rankings organizations.
Essential Requirements
- Technical understanding of supply chain sustainability as defined by ESG reporting/rating frameworks and supply chain due diligence laws
- Project management fundamentals (e.g., integrated planning and scheduling) and tools
- Developing resource plans (staffing, funding) and business strategy roadmaps
- Ability to setup and govern business operations infrastructure
- Executive level communications (written, graphical and verbal) and presence
- Flexibility to prioritize work and adjust to evolving stakeholder inputs
- Ability to work virtually with a global team
- Business relationships building
- Systems thinking
