Jeppesen Systems, a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is one of the largest software development companies in Gothenburg. We are a world-leading supplier of software to model, solve and analyze airline planning and operations problems. Typically, we develop innovative optimization solutions for the world’s leading airlines. We are dedicated to continuous improvement, delivering more value to our clients, and exploring emerging technologies such as quantum computing, AI and big data analytics.
Our Gothenburg office, located in the city center, is now looking for students (1 or 2) who can join us this summer to be part of a development team. You will be working in an agile learning organization, surrounded by a team of talented, creative and dedicated colleagues. For this summer worker assignment, we are looking for students with interest in compiler configuration and clean code analysis.
The summer worker will be responsible for utilizing our software development tools to find a new setup and a recommended way of working to enhance a clean code approach for Jeppesen Crew solutions.
Job description:
You will look into our software development tools and mainly work with:
- Enabling more compiling warnings and solve any existing problems detected by said compiler warnings
- Configure (new triggers) for the static code analysis in a way so we can see a clear clean code enhancement in terms of code coverage, maintainability index, modularity, security, etc.
- We also see the opportunity to evolve our current way of working and set a new standard for our tools in order to provide an enhanced code quality standard.
- You will summarize findings and configurations in a report with statements and recommendations of how to proceed and a how to use the new way of working.
We use GCC 12 as compiler and Sonarqube as our static code analysis tool. Our product code is written in C++ (C++ 17 standard) and we also use CMAKE and GitLab in our everyday work.
You will be part of an agile team who will introduce you to our product, environment and context to onboard you and support you during the summer assignment.

Required qualifications
- Part of a BSc or a MSc University program with relevant major in computer science or similar.
- A curious mindset with a sense of quality and accuracy
- At least moderate knowledge and pretty good experience in C++ (C++ 17) as a programming language
- Some knowledge and interests in compilers and especially GCC (GCC 12)
- Familiar and some experience with Linux as OS
- English in speaking and writing
Preferred qualifications
- Familiar with CMAKE
- Familiar with Sonarqube
- Familiar with Gitlab

Time period:
About 12 weeks or as agreed, starting preferably in early or mid June and ends in late August, with possibilities to have a few weeks of vacation in July or/and August, or as agreed.
