Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an experienced Project Management Specialist (Level 4) for an exciting opportunity on the P-8A Training Systems program. This position will provide project management support of current Royal Australian Air Force Training Systems Update 3 (RAAF-3) and future domestic and joint P-8A Poseidon Training Systems projects.
Position Responsibilities
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Oversee project management activities to ensure P-8A Training System program requirements are established and integrated
Leads others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit projects demonstrating proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with Boeing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards)
Oversight, and management responsibility (including performance management & reporting) for a portfolio of small to medium size projects in support of organizational the goals and objectives
Identifies key stakeholder project specific objectives and requirements
Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan
Provides in-depth analysis of project culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans
Provides assessment of team performance to appropriate management
Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation
Provides in depth analysis; identify lessons learned, provide historical reports to incorporate into future project plans
Provides input of team member performance to management, where appropriate
Develop, nurture and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
Develop, nurture and maintain relationships with the Fleet/user communities
Provide oversight and subject matter expertise for P-8A training products and processes
Ability to travel 10% of the time to supplier and customer locations (foreign and domestic)
This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
5+ years’ experience in a role requiring project / program management skills (i.e., cost, schedule, resource, risk and technical management)
3+ years’ experience on P-8 Aircraft or Training Systems
Experience working in a cross functional environment
3+ years’ experience with developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
Experience as P-8A Pilot, Operator or Maintainer
Experience in a customer facing role
Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework environment) or similar Agile project management tool
Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must reside within proximity to one of the listed Boeing locations or relocate at their own expense.
