The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Systems Design Engineer to join our team in Hazelwood, MO or St. Charles, MO to support AvionX aviation product lines.
Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. The right person is an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – Systems Design with a passion for systems and component design and electronics. They have a strong technical background, with a desire to apply this to the development of new and cutting-edge avionics systems and components. They also have strong interpersonal skills to work with subject matter experts as well as peers on the team to create deliverables.
Works with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements.
Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Supports fielded hardware and software as required over the entire product lifecycle.
Helps investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to advance applications to meet company business needs.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in sustaining production manufacturing.
Experience in Requirements Management, System Integration, and System Architecture Design
Experience with Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) component, Circuit Card Assembly, and Printed Wiring Board specification and quality requirements.
Experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.
Strong technical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with other team members and work in a diverse team centric environment.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
