Job Description

Boeing is searching for skilled Payload Operators with strong technical knowledge, operational mindset and mission focus to support a critical customer program. This position is vital to the success of the program and provides tremendous opportunity for technical leadership as a contractor. Operators with background in any imaging domain should apply.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Provide hands-on, direct command and control of a high priority sensor.
• Perform as an integral part of a collaborative operations cell while being the team's sensor expert responsible for collaboration with internal & external SMEs to design and implement important missions.
• Verify and transmit all system commands to the payload and possess a thorough understanding of how specific commanding actions effect the greater mission objectives.
• Provide mission critical support to a fascinating technical capability throughout all phases of operation (pre-mission, in-mission, post-mission)
• Manipulate Graphical User Interfaces and maintain situational awareness of surrounding environment
• Operate, evaluate, and manage payload information and related ground processing systems
• Perform identification, acquisition, recording, analysis and reporting of payload responsibilities
• Maintain communication networks with remote team members
• Study and research technical capabilities and limitations of payloads and sensors
• Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures for sustainable operations
• Work in a team environment and interface with external mission partners to enhance operational effectiveness
• Provide input to planning and mission development products
• Provide actionable recommendations during debriefs and planning sessions
• Draft and coordinate operational communications with external organizations

Nonstandard shift work will be required

Basic Qualifications/Experience:

Current TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance with CI POLYGRAPH is Required for this position.


Position is contingent on clearance verification, adjudication and customer concurrence.  

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with a CI Polygraph U.S. Security Clearance.  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)  



Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Proficient in command and control procedures via remote links, as well as, the end-to-end intelligence collection mission planning and execution cycle
• Ability to maintain a broad and up-to-date situational awareness of current mission operations; quickly gain understanding of current mission target environments and associated dynamics; familiar with intelligence collection methods and infrastructure
• Ability to quickly identify and characterize previously unidentified intelligence problems and then configure and operate the collection sensor to successfully collect against the new problems.
• Extensive knowledge of known and emerging land-based, airborne and shipborne signal emitters

Typical Education/Experience:
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
