Autonomous Maritime (AM)/Advanced Mission Solutions is seeking a Senior System Engineer to support efforts to define concepts and systems engineering solutions to customer requirements to advanced communication, signal processing systems and other systems.
The successful candidate will need to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and must be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written; technical leadership skills desired. Experience in leading and conducting mathematical analysis, modeling and simulation efforts to support product development is desired; prior systems engineering experience is required. Experience in working with customers to develop technical roadmaps and business strategies is desired. The ability to work across a broad spectrum of disciplines including optics, RF engineering, communications and satellite design/operation at a technical level sufficient to translate customer needs into clear, actionable requirements and interface specifications.
Looking for candidates with experience in either one the following areas:
(Analysis) Support analyses and studies for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties to ensure mission success.
Development of planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
This includes any combination of Systems Requirements development, management, and verification. Supports work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Candidate will plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle balanced system solutions for a highly complex hardware/software system; allocate performance budgets and analyze and report on test data. The candidate will support and evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Lead analyses and design activities to optimize total system architecture. Experience in development of algorithms as part of a system definition is required.
(Modeling) This includes any combination of Systems Requirements development, management, and verification, System Performance modeling, analysis, algorithm development using MATLAB and reporting, System Test planning, execution, and reporting as well as other Systems Engineering functions as required to support system development and fielding. Supports work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Candidate will plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle balanced system solutions for a highly complex hardware/software system; allocate performance budgets and analyze and report on test data. The candidate will support and evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Lead analyses and design activities to optimize total system architecture.

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
