Job Description
The Boeing Autonomous Systems Advanced Maritime and Mission Systems group is seeking experienced Software Engineers to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify software solutions covering openings in various products and programs within the portfolio.
 

This position requires candidates to have an interim Secret U.S. Security Clearance prestart and the ability to be cleared up to Top Secret SCI, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Please list clearance level on your resume. (Note: If you held a security clearance within the last two years, your clearance is considered current/active).

Position Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, you will evaluate customer/operational needs with other engineering disciplines to design, develop, deploy, and maintain software that conforms to industry standards.

Openings for the requisitions cover a variety of skills and technologies depending on the assigned project. Candidates should be proficient in at least one of the following development areas to be considered for employment:

(Embedded/Real-Time Applications)

  • Proficient in C++ programming utilizing object-oriented design practices.
  • Proficient with Inter-Process Communication (IPC) techniques and functions.
  • Experience developing software interfacing with Windows and Linux OS
  • Experience with secure coding standards desired including the SELinux technology
  • The ability to develop code on FPGAs and GPUs.

(User Interface)

  • Java application and web application development to include client and middle tier components
  • JavaScript (Angular experience preferred)
  • Microsoft .NET applications

(Database Interfaces)

  • XML and JSON (with associated object relational mapping technologies).
  • Spring framework.
  • Relational Database integration via object relational mapping.
  • MarkLogic xQuery

Candidates must be familiar with common development environment practices including: 

  • Agile methods and tracking tools (Atlassian JIRA preferred)
  • Continuous Integration (Jenkins or Atlassian Bamboo preferred)
  • Unit testing and associated frameworks including Gtest/Junit
  • Build scripts including Gradle/Maven/Make/CMake
  • Code repositories (Git preferred)

Candidates must have demonstrated/proven ability to work well in a team environment utilizing appropriate development tools to contribute to a master code repository. Several positions require interaction with customers, end users, team members, representatives from supporting organizations and vendors. Candidates must possess a professional demeanor that promotes collaboration and demonstrates confidence. Candidates applying for this position must have a work ethic focused on optimizing productivity and quality of the products and services delivered in support of the mission.

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
