Job Description

Boeing is searching for experienced Software Engineers to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify software solutions for operational programs of vital importance to our customers.  As a member of our team, you will evaluate customer/operational needs with other engineering disciplines to design, develop, deploy, and maintain software that conforms to industry standards.

This position requires interaction with customers, end users, team members, representatives from supporting organizations and vendors. Candidates must possess a professional demeanor that promotes collaboration and demonstrates confidence. Candidates must have the patience to deal with the constraints of performing their job in an operational mission environment both in day-to-day operations and in emergent situations. Candidates applying for this position must have a work ethic focused on optimizing productivity and quality of the products and services delivered in support of the mission. 


This position requires solid to advanced skills in C++ and Java. In addition Linux OS skills are required and SE Linux OS skills are desired. A background in secure coding practices and Information Assurance cyber skills will be highly utilized. Our work involves both embedded solutions and network solutions with the implementation of many emerging software and hardware technologies. All of our work is performed in an Agile environment.

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Proficient in C++ and Java application and web application development to include client and middle tier components

Desired Qualifications:

  • JavaScript (Angular 2.0 experience preferred)
  • MarkLogic xQuery
  • Gradle
  • Jira and/or VersionOne
  • XML and JSON (with associated object relational mapping technologies)
  • Spring framework
  • Relational Database integration via object relational mapping
  • Continuous Integration (Jenkins or Atlassian Bamboo preferred)
  • Unit testing and associated frameworks
