Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Business Development is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Huntsville, Alabama Business Development Field Operations Office.
The focus of this position is customer interface in support of Boeing’s work with Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation, PEO Missiles and Space, Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center (CCDC AvMC), Future Vertical Lift Cross Functional Team (FVL CFT), US Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC), and the Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Army & Special Operations Forces Business Development Field Operations Team who is also located at Huntsville.
You will be a key member of the BDS and Boeing Global Services (BGS) Business Development Strategic Marketing team responsible for marketing activities, and supporting all Boeing customer and community engagement efforts.
You will represent all Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), and Boeing Global Services (BGS), and Boeing Subsidiaries projects, programs, products, and capabilities for US Army and Special Operations Forces (SOF). This is a highly complex set of offerings for a rapidly evolving contested environment in all five domains (space, air, land, maritime, and cyber) – the key to this role is your ability to build relationships, listen to the customer, and communicate how Boeing products support the mission as well as schedule and affordability needs.
This individual will contribute on matters related to the U.S. programs of record and will routinely interface with a diverse and geographically dispersed team while building and leveraging close working relationships with the Boeing Government Relations office, Field Operations Offices, BDS and BGS business units and Program Teams.
This is a highly visible position where you have the opportunity to build a long-term career with BDS, Business Development, and Field Operations while moving the business forward and enhancing shareholder value. This position will also supervise personnel at another Field Office.
Position Responsibilities:
Proactively engage customers to understand capability needs and requirements
Develop and maintain superb relationships with Army PEO Aviation, PEO M&S, AMCOM, CCDC AvMC, FVL CFT, USASAC, and USASMDC
Understand Boeing products and how they are or may be employed
Support BDS and BGS leaders with timely, accurate knowledge of customer priorities, program execution issues, capability gaps and opportunities
Establish and maintain a team-based culture with BDS and BGS, and facilitate close coordination to ensure unified, cohesive messaging to the customer
Maintain intimate familiarity with the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army requirements process, the formal and rapid acquisition systems to include the Army’s Modernization Enterprise and the Army Modernization Strategy
Provide insight, based on US Army and SOF requirements, to recognize and develop opportunities within existing and emerging Boeing business units’ programs
Contribute to the development of strategies for capturing new DoD and proprietary business
Manage business development employees planning, developing and managing sales and marketing campaigns
Develops and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures
Supervise and manage office budgets, sponsorships, and projects
Actively participate in local civic, business, defense industry and professional associations
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of experience working within or with Military or DoD customers
10+ years of experience interfacing directly with senior military officials and executives
5+ years of experience with DoD acquisition process and the role of the COCOM (Combatant Commander) in the requirements setting and acquisition process
Experience with DOD and/or government acquisition processes
Experience with Government/DoD budget, investments and acquisition processes along with an understanding of legislative or Congressional activities
Experience working with government agencies such as the US Army
Experience with communication, both written and verbal, with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with executive-level management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s degree
Experience, or some knowledge in NASA Space programs or a related Space program
Experiences and/or knowledge of the U.S. Army Futures Command, Army Futures and Concepts Center, Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, Army Training and Doctrine Command Centers of Excellence, Army Major Commands, and/or Department of Defense Combatant Commands

Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $165,750 - 224,250

To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
