Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a Mass Properties Engineer will be providing primary support for GBSD (Ground Based Strategic Deterrent) development phase. This is an early career position located at the primary site for the GBSD program in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities include: development of complex weight, balance and inertia data; estimation, calculation, measurement and verification of mass, center of gravity, and inertias; development and maintenance of mass properties accounting systems; reporting to internal and external customers; trade study support, and vehicle or system configuration guidance.

The successful candidate will have experience with Mass Properties processes and principles necessary to determine and report required data. In addition, the successful candidate will have to successfully interface with various levels of Boeing management and NASA customer counterparts.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

• This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
• Experience in mass property engineering
• Experience in computer aided design software programs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Visual Basic Applications
• Experience with AIAA Mass Properties management practices
• Experience supporting with airplane, ground vehicles, or ships programs
• Microsoft Office suite, NX, Boeing standard product data manager tools
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and leadership skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position is located in Huntsville, AL and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
