Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated and talented Lead & Senior Project Engineers to join the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) Systems Engineering Team in Huntsville, Alabama. We are seeking engineers that are motivated by being part of a mission critical program, instilling engineering discipline and rigor, and participating in the digital engineering transformation.
Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization is dynamic and growing engineering team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) , Precision-guided Munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense products (PAC-3, Avenger, ABMD); Missile Defense Agency National Team (Systems Engineering, C2BMC), and Strategic Deterrence Systems (which includes Minuteman ICBM support and guidance system repair).
We are currently actively seeking to hire Senior (Level 4), Senior Lead (Level 5) or Principal (Level 6) Systems Engineers for a variety of positions in support of the GMD Systems Engineering, Integration Support Services (SITR) program, MDA National Team, along with other future contract awards.
We are currently actively seeking to hire Project Engineers for a variety of positions in support GMD, IAMD and National Team.
Position Responsibilities:
Leading planning, coordination, execution of detailed engineering activities across multiple MWS programs, projects, and systems
Facilitating recurring meetings, technical exchanges and reviews involving multiple internal and external organizations across multiple engineering disciplines
Lead integration of technical parameters and activities to assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Lead assessments and collaborative resolution of complex cross-functional technical issues amongst multiple diverse stakeholders
Drives results through the development, implementation and maintenance of rigorous processes, tools, schedules and metrics
Maintains current data and providing status on technical and schedule performance issues
Leads discrete planning of work efforts and Agile implementation to maintain engineering execution schedules
Leads and manages changes to engineering Statement of Works (SOWs) and assess impacts to these changes
Support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement
Complete lesson learned analysis and champion innovative and corrective actions to address lessons learned
Hybrid: This position is expected to be 70 - 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in applying engineering processes and principles
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
