The Missile and Weapon Systems (MWS) Product Security Engineering Capability is seeking a senior experienced Product Cyber Security Engineer and Leader for the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program anticipated to be awarded in February 2021. This leader will be responsible for the integration, implementation, and integrity of the Product Cyber Security activities, products, and mindset across the Boeing NGI engineering, leadership, and supplier team. The MWS Product Security Engineering team is responsible for the security, resiliency, and safety of MWS products and services.
Successful candidates will highlight a breadth and depth of experience in leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary team efforts, supporting complex system development, integration and test. These activities cover information technology environments, as well as embedded systems, communications, and other non-IT elements that would be found in an NGI type of product. You will be leading and working daily in MBSE and DevSecOps related environments and tools, and should possess at least some professional experience in those environments, and methodologies.
Primary engineer and leader responsible for the consistent and holistic implementation of Product Cyber Security Engineering throughout the NGI program, including Boeing Integrated Protect Teams (IPT) and Suppliers
Utilize and improve upon Boeing Product Security Design Practices and Solution Kits
Close partnership in planning and execution of Product Cyber Security Engineering activity with other NGI leaders and engineering teams
Direct the execution of recurring and maturing Product Cyber Security Engineering analysis, design, implementation, and test across the NGI program and teams, and responsible engineers in partner teams
Engage and represent Product Security to Boeing, Supplier, and Customer leadership
Lead with engineering thought leadership, and participate in key activities, including:
Incremental Cyber and Systems Security Analysis, Design Maturation, and Verification
Incremental Software Security and Assurance, and Verification
System Security Engineering and Program Protection
Cyber Test & Evaluation Analysis, Planning, Test Execution, Reviews and Support to Customer-led events
Execute NGI Product Security Strategy for
Perform incremental criticality, adversity, threat analysis on complex, highly technical NGI system
Apply systematic, functional and fact based analysis techniques and tools throughout life-cycle and maturation of the NGI product
Coordinate incremental analysis of systems, components, and suppliers for risks, vulnerabilities, and threats
Establish collaborative design & development strategy with responsible engineers for traceable mitigations, including design constraints and concepts to minimize risk and vulnerability and increase NGI resiliency and assurance
Coordinate collaborative incremental verification and testing to assess mitigations and design elements
Partner and fully integrate with the NGI software development SCRUM team
Champion and participate fully in Agile planning and execution
Utilize the Boeing NGI SW Factory DevSecOps security analysis tools, and tests and artifacts to assess and verify security measures, quality, and integrity
Supervise and institutionalize early and incremental development and test activities utilizing virtualized / emulated elements and systems / code under test
Develop and coordinate Product Cyber Security test plans and activities (penetration testing, cooperative and non-cooperative vulnerability testing, adversarial analysis and testing, cyber table top exercises, and advanced virtual/emulated testing) throughout the maturation of program life-cycle
All Product Security engineering will be performed within a robust and integrated Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment and Software Factory implementing a comprehensive Development – Security – Operations (DevSecOps) life-cycle. Product Security related artifacts including analysis products, design decisions, derived requirements, features, and test related materials will be maintained through the MBSE and DevSecOps tool chains. Experience with these tools is highly valued. Professional experience in leading / executing a team of engineers utilizing these types of tools is also highly valued.
In addition to the specific program responsibilities of NGI, the successful candidates will be joining the growing MWS Product Security Engineering Capability. This leader will be a key technical leader for the program and division, and will be afforded opportunity to develop experience in enterprise Product Security activities and decision making. You will be joining a team of advanced security engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise, that are jointly developing best practices, techniques and tools, and a community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of education and/or work experience in Cyber Security
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
IAM Level 2 (or higher) DoD 8570 Certification
Master's degree in related fields, or specialties including Cybersecurity with typically 18 or more years of professional experience
A substantial understanding and experience in executing and leading complex non-IT Product and Cybersecurity systems analysis, design, development, and testing
Professional experience in leading teams and partners in the performance of complex engineering activity
Demonstrated history of strong performance in systems, electrical or computer engineering, or related fields, operating through the full engineering lifecycle of a product
A strong command and leadership in requirements definition, subsystem allocation, and integration testing is required, and knowledge of avionics and embedded computing and communications systems
Highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to lead independently and effectively across internal and external customers and subcontractors in a multi-discipline program and environment
Understanding and experience in engineering, including:
Requirements, Concepts of Operations, and Use Cases
Development of Hardware and Software products
Integration and Unit Test
Verification and Validation
Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Tests
Understanding and knowledge of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and mission
Understanding and knowledge of platforms and embedded systems, such as those found in missiles and aircraft
Ability to analyze high level needs; following a structured and logical approach refine the into an evolving minimum viable product (MVP) that leads to a final fielded product
Ability to factor and communicate confidentiality, integrity and availability considerations in all phases of system development lifecycle
The ability to understand and decompose requirements to support implementation, verification and validation testing of software and hardware components
Experience with Cameo (SysML, UML), JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Aqua, SonarQube, Coverity, and other design, development and collaboration tools
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
