Job Description
Phantom Works is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide coordination of cyber security strategies/engagements, industrial security/facilities, information security (with our Shared Services Group (SSG – Government and Computing Security) and Information Technology (IT) teams) and directly with our Phantom Works programs and government customers in the critically important, emerging area of Cyber Security. The candidate will support one or more programs as the Phantom Works Cyber Security Lead as well as working with the Enterprise Cyber Security and Anti-Tamper Capability. This position reports directly to the Phantom Works VP of Engineering.
The successful candidate will have past experience in coordination with the Defense Security Service related to the implementation of DoD 5220.22-M (the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)); and a working knowledge of DoDI 8510.01, ICD-503, CNSSI-1253, and SP 800-53 controls to perform of risk analysis and provide strategic direction for system architectures, operations and delivered products. Responsibilities for this position include forming/maintaining customer contacts; assessing customer requirements to derive strategies for potential system and technical requirements; developing plans, requirements and certifications for security facilities; coordinating security needs with our SSG teams; working information security with our IT teams; identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for program success; coordinate cyber security staffing needs across all of the Phantom Works programs; developing documents; developing and delivering presentations. The candidate will be expected to communicate and work closely with process and system owners, information technology management, Information Assurance (IA) teams, Program Office technical/management staff and other Functional Areas to ensure the relevance of architecture, system designs and product designs in implementing program IA requirements.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


Experience in implementation of DoD 5220-22-M NISPOM with DSS
- Experience with set up and certification of secured facilities
- Experience with and currently maintaining cleared customer security contacts
- Experience with coordinating information security with IT organizations
- Experience with deriving and implementing cyber security strategies
- Experience in performing risk assessments and risk management.
- Experience in analysis of requirements, architecture design and product design.
- Experience with avionics and military platform operations.
This Position will require DoD 8570.01M / DoDD 8140.01 certification at IASAE Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, CCNA-Security).  CISSP preferred for ISSM functions.

Desired Experience:

- Hands on experience in analyzing system security postures and performing risk assessments.

- Experience in analysis of IA requirements, IA architecture design, IA audit tools and IA compliance for operational/mission systems.

- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships, technical document preparation and verbal communication for presentation of technical IA issues and reports to senior government and military officials.

- Familiarity with time- and space-partitioned operating systems and/or Separation Kernel RTOS (SK-RTOS).


Must have an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
